You can ride, but you can't ride for free.

heads against glass windows.
smudgy prints and oil stains.
shut open close repeat.
turningturningturning.
stretching out my legs just because i can,
damn. i wish you would fall.

of scarves and tiaras
and watermelon clips.
of cheaper cds.
and of finding smudges and slanted writings.
the curse of never being able to write in a straight line.
these little things,
serve as a reminder of how i can be never alone - no matter how much i try to make myself be.

you never really notice how small you really are,
until you've seen the world and experienced everything.

so won't you come with me,
down to the river,
where a bridge links us to the outside world.
come with me and let us wait for night to fall,
and with our battered shoes undone and kept
and the holey socks rolled up.
swinging our legs in the ice cold water,
maybe to see if we're alive.
or it's just a protection.
and let us wait for the right moment,
then light a match with me.
pretend that it's a birthday candle and for every match you light,
you get to have a wish
and for that wish it'll be repeated for every match you light.
except this is the worse birthday party ever and instead of blowing the match out.
you throw it against the old wooden bridge that is drained in kerosene.
bluebell flames lick against the wood,
maybe you can feel alive again.
so won't you come with me
burning bridges and making wishes.

Quote of the month:

"…he was so full of wrath against grown-ups, who, as usual, were spoiling everything, that as soon as he got inside his tree he breathed intentionally quick short breaths at the rate of about five to a second. He did this because there is a saying in the Neverland that, every time you breathe, a grown-up dies; and Peter was killing them off vindictively as fast as possible."
